2002 Sep. 12.18 UT: m1=[11.5, ... 20-cm SCT (36x) ... Juan Jose Gonzalez (Puerto de Aralla, alt.1720 m, Leon, North Spain) [Comet not seen, alt. 5 deg. Observation made under good conditions]
2002 Sep. 12.12 UT: m1=[10.8, ... 25.4-cm f/6 L (76x) ... Bjorn H. Granslo (Haagaar Observatory, Eina, Norway) [Comet not seen in morning twilight, despite a transparent sky. Limiting magnitude deduced when defocusing to 1'.0, in-focus magnitude limit was about 12.5. The comet was, however, successfully imaged with the same telescope and ST-6 CCD + V-filter.]

The field was observed in twilight, shortly before setting below the natural horizon (true altitude 11 deg.). The limiting magnitude was obtained by defusing to 2'.5. Nearby stars to mag. 11.5 were visible.]
